SKU: HRB-VK-0006 Category:

BRAND: ANU

PRODUCT NAME: Anustorm Herbicide

TECHNICAL NAME: Pendimethalin 30% EC

Product Name & Variants

  • Anustorm — Pendimethalin 30% EC (emulsifiable concentrate) .

  • Anustorm Super — a higher-strength variant with 38.7% pendimethalin .

Composition & Formulation

  • Active Ingredient: Pendimethalin

    • In Anustorm (standard): 30% EC (i.e. 300 g/L) .

    • In Anustorm Super: 38.7% (i.e. 387 g/L) .

  • Formulation Type: Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC)

  • Mobility: Classified as systemic (i.e. moves in plant tissues to some extent).

Mode of Action & Selectivity

  • Acts as a selective pre-emergence herbicide — applied before weed germination or just after (but before weeds become established) .

  • Mechanism: Pendimethalin interferes with cell division (microtubule formation) in germinating weed seedlings, inhibiting root and shoot growth, thereby preventing emergence or establishment of weeds .

Spectrum / Target Weeds

  • Controls a mix of grasses and broadleaf weeds, including species such as Phalaris minor, Chenopodium, Melilotus, Anagallis, Arvensis, Poa annua (annual bluegrass) and others

  • In Anustorm Super, the broader strength allows better control especially under heavier weed pressure in many crops

Recommended Crops / Uses

  • Anustorm (30% EC) is recommended for crops including wheat, paddy, cotton, onion, chilli, soybean, groundnut, etc.

  • Anustorm Super is used for oilseeds, pulses, vegetables, and tree plantations, under heavier weed loads .

Dosage & Application

  • Dosage (Anustorm 30% EC): ~ 1000 mL per acre (may vary depending on crop, soil type, weed pressure) .

  • Dosage (Anustorm Super): ~ 600–700 mL per acre (depending on crop, soil, weed burden) .

  • Application Timing: Pre-emergence (i.e. before weeds germinate) is optimal; in some cases early post-emergence (just after weed sprouts) may also work if label allows .

  • Method: Can be applied by broadcast spraying or band application (depending on field layout) .

Advantages / Benefits

  • Long residual effect: remains active in soil to provide protection against weeds for several weeks .

  • Selective: targets weeds while allowing the crop to grow (when used properly) .

  • Efficient usage: relatively low application rate for control compared to nonselective herbicides.

  • Versatility: usable across a range of crops and soil types, under many weed pressures (especially the Super version).

Precautions, Safety & Handling

  • Classified as moderately hazardous (requires caution) .

  • Must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — gloves, goggles, protective clothing, etc. .

  • Avoid drift (do not spray under strong wind)

  • Ensure correct dilution and application, follow label instructions

  • Dispose of empty containers properly and in accordance with regulatory guidelines

  • Avoid contamination of water bodies — pendimethalin is known to have aquatic toxicity potential
