Boramin Ca — Product Description
What it is
Boramin Ca is a biostimulant / foliar-fertiliser specially formulated to prevent and correct deficiencies of calcium (Ca) and boron (B) in crops. It also contains free amino acids and a small amount of nitrogen to aid nutrient uptake and mobilisation.
Composition & Key Features
| Component | % by Weight / Soluble / Key Feature |
|---|---|
| Calcium (CaO) | ~ 8% (≈ 10-10.5% v/v in some places) |
| Boron (B) | ~ 0.20-0.27% soluble |
| Free amino acids (L-α) | ~ 5 - 6.5% (helps with complexing and transport of nutrients) |
| Nitrogen (N) | ~ 5-6% (in some versions) |
Other formulation details: it is a liquid, soluble concentrate (often labeled SL), suitable for foliar spray and fertigation.
What it Helps With / Benefits
-
Prevents or corrects physiological disorders associated with calcium deficiency, such as:
-
Blossom end rot in tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, etc.
-
Tip burn of lettuce, marginal leaf necrosis in leafy vegetables
-
Bitter pit in apples, splitting/cracking in citrus fruits, cherries, etc.
-
-
Improves fruit quality, shelf life, firmness, and post-harvest storage.
-
Enhances nutrient uptake and mobility of calcium in plants (since calcium is generally immobile) through synergy with amino acids and boron.
-
Helps plants better cope with abiotic stress (heat, drought, cold) by improving internal nutrient balance and metabolic support.
How to Use / Dosage & Application
Here are common usage guidelines (may vary by crop, local conditions, country etc.):
| Application Method | Typical Dose / Frequency | Key Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Foliar spray | 2-5 L per hectare; 2-4 applications every 10-15 days during fruit formation & growth stages. | Ensure good leaf coverage. Best applied when leaves are dry or early morning / late afternoon to avoid burning. |
| Fertigation / Soil application | 8-12 L/ha for horticultural crops; 10-15 L/ha for fruit trees, vineyards etc.; multiple applications over growth/fruiting period. | Apply when plants are actively growing; ensure even distribution in irrigation water. |
-
Use 300-500 ml per 100 L water for foliar in many vegetable-fruit crops.
-
Number of applications: Typically 2-5 depending on severity of deficiency and crop duration.
Compatibility & Precautions
-
Compatible with many fertilisers and plant protection chemicals, except with mineral oils, copper-based products, sulfur products, and high pH (> 8) solutions. Always perform small-scale compatibility test.
-
Since calcium is less mobile in plants, timing is important: apply before and during critical growth stages (flowering, fruit set, fruit enlargement).
-
Storage: cool, dry, well sealed. Shake well before use. Avoid direct sun on spray droplets.
